Dr. Sangmuah is a veteran physician with special interests in diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and hypertension. Prior to Matthews Internal Medicine, he was a Hospitalist at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC, from 2004 to 2010 and Stanly Memorial Hospital in Albemarle, NC, from 2002 to 2004. He has also been extensively involved in medical research.
Dr. Eugene is certified through the National Laser Institute, PCA Skin Care, Advanced Injectables, and Collagen Induction Therapy. Eugene enjoys supporting patients of all skin colors, gender, and ages. His in-depth knowledge of anatomy and ability to map each patient’s needs individually, provides an educational experience and real results. He is continually studying the most advanced and effective techniques available to provide the best care for his patients.
Dr. Sangmuah received his Medical Degree at the University of Ghana Medical School. He completed a Residency in Primary Care and Internal Medicine from the Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he also served as the Chief Resident in the Department of Medicine. Additionally, he is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Sangmuah is married and has two children, and also enjoys traveling, reading, and sports.
